Spring 2012 |
We recently celebrated some special achievements: new arrangements and a concert at the Vogue Theatre with a 45-piece symphony orchestra; a new child; an old portable typewriter;
journeys to new places - the exotic states of Oregon, Idaho, and Washington - where quality diners and roadside burger stands still exist; a three-piece corduroy suit;
catching up on eight years of unfiled income tax returns.
Cause for celebration. Inspiration for new music. At the edge of achievement, a reminder how frail the premise really is.
This spring we are sowing new seeds. More festivals, more travels, more purpose to refine. We are coming to see you for a hug, a story, and a whiskey. Don't lose sight of what matters most.

Maria in the Shower is Vancouver's legendary folk cabaret band - wandering minstrels, entertainers cut from old cloth, storytellers traveling often and gathering tales as they go. You will find them anywhere good people and good music gather - festivals, concert halls, parlours, community halls, house concerts, or simply in the street.
